Detaljprosjekt
This new build project replaces an old house that occupied a corner site close to central Bergen in the suburb of Fløen.
The original house was a simple neo-classical house with some swiss style elements but had unfortunately fallen in to disrepair. The client wished to replace the existing house with a larger- but similar style wooden house with space for four families.
The design is a blend of modern and historic elements inspired by the original house and the buildings in the surrounding neighborhood.
The facade is inspired by swiss style villas which became popular between the 1840-1930’s. These houses featured horizontal facade divisions, large- projecting eaves, and wooden motifs.
The symmetrical plan consists of four apartments between 120-140 m2 with a common entrance towards the North. Each apartment has access to private outdoor areas as well as a common garden in the South.
The large bay-windows (karnapp) feature custom built sofa and storage, and are a great place for family members to sit and enjoy a coffee, read a book or do some homework whilst being in direct contact with the goings-on in the kitchen.
